About HOKA
HOKA was founded in 2009 in Annecy, in the French Alps, by Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard. Their idea was simple: generously cushioned shoes that let runners move faster downhill. The original name, HOKA ONE ONE, comes from the Māori language and is often translated as “to fly over the earth”.
Since 2013 HOKA has been part of Deckers Brands, and it has grown into one of the most recognisable names in running. Its signature is maximal cushioning combined with a light weight and a rocker-shaped sole, found in models such as the Clifton, the Bondi and the Speedgoat trail shoe.
