About New Balance
New Balance was founded in Boston in 1906 as a maker of arch supports designed to improve the fit and comfort of shoes. More than a century later, that focus on fit and engineering still defines the brand.
Models such as the 574, the 990 — first released in 1982 — and newer designs like the 9060 have made New Balance a favourite of runners and sneaker enthusiasts alike. The brand is also known for producing part of its range in its own factories in the USA and the UK.
